Dear MIT Parents,

Well the weather appears to be cooperating this time, so MIT's rescheduled "barn-raising" is this Saturday, 12/17, from 9AM to 3PM. Our new Everest facility needs some final work to make it complete, and so we are seeking 50 - 75 workers with a variety of skills (including carpentry, landscaping, and painting) that can improve landscaping and put some finishing touches on our million-dollar project. There are lots of things to do, ranging from zero exertion to highly physical, so we have something for everyone!

Participants can start the day with coffee and bagels, and get a hotdog lunch at noon! Parent participants will earn up to six hours of volunteer hours, and volunteers with specialized skills can earn double hours.

All the action occurs this Saturday, and anyone with either special skills or an interest in a particular activity should contact Elizabeth Garcia at , or at extension 115, so she can assign you to a team. Otherwise come as you are and be part of the MIT village that helps raise the Everest “barn!”
